Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan peer mentor Dave Ireland joined MPs at the Palace of Westminster earlier this month as part of the Royal British Legion’s Count Them In campaign.

Dave was pictured with Vale of Clwyd and Llanelli MPs Dr James Davies and Nia Griffith at the Houses of Parliament – and said he enjoyed raising the profile of Change Step at the heart of government.

Count Them In was launched to help better understand the number of veterans living the UK by pressing for the inclusion of a specific question on the next UK Census in 2021.

“The RBL estimate that one in 10 people across the UK are veterans, so the conservative estimate for the number across Wales is 250,000,” Dave said.

“Many of the MPs knew about Change Step already – and those who didn’t were really receptive when they found out about what we do.”
